Main-Brief: Scenario

I have been given the following scenario for my main brief:

Scenario:

You will be working for Horah Media Production company and will follow the processes required to make a Horror film.You will need funding so think about the audience and distribution process as you are not required to make the whole film, only the opening scene (maximum of 3 mins). This is what you would pitch to a larger institution when asking for more funding. To do this you will:

• gather and collate research using the checklist
• write blog entries summarising lesson, work done using terminology
• produce a continuity task - mini brief and Evaluation. Audience
• produce main task outlined above
• complete 4 textual analysis using this as a guide
• show evidence of planning by writing a screenplay opening and storyboard. Here’s an example.
• decide on and source relevant props
• write an evaluation of the pre to post production stages

So far in 2016 Horror films have taken almost $120,000,000 at the box office.This figure not only tells us that Horror is a genre enjoyed by a large audience, it also tells us that there is a lot of money to be made from it. To ensure a successful product is made, Media production institutions need to follow several processes to be certain that the will have a return on their investment.

In order to achieve my objective I will be researching and analysing the opening of horror films and keeping my blog updated with plans and ideas that I have.
