Main Brief: Our Narrative Structure

For our Main Brief, we have decided to use a Non-Linear structure. This is because we plan on our opening being a flash forward to events that occur in the middle of the chronological order of the film. We decided on this structure as we wanted to introduce the main character to the audience in the opening scene, we also wanted to include the entity (or the dark shadow) but we agreed their had to be a reason for this being to haunt our main character. We decided that after the title screen appears at the ending of the opening, if the film was to continue, it would lead to a flashback of two weeks earlier, when the main character and her friends break into an old house that is rumoured to be haunted in order to catch some footage for a media project. The main character would steal an old box, which contains something linked to the entity, which would explain why the being is haunting her in the present.
