Main Brief: Opening Sequence Development

After deciding on an opening sequence that would hint at the backstory behind our film, Amy and I started to edit photos and sound to build up a news story of the murdered family.

I started off by using an app on my MacBook to change an image of my family into black and white with a distressed boarder in order to make the picture appear old and damaged. I then took this version of the image and used LunaPic to create an animation of the picture changing into a negative filter to make it appear a lot scarier and creepier.

I then took the black and white version of the image into Adobe Photoshop and used the Photoshop to add scratches across the eyes and the words die into the image. I thought that this expressed someone (the murderer)'s hatred for the family and I believed this was effective in showing why the family was killed. I then used the same Photoshop program to add blood splatter onto the image to enforce to the audience that this family was a victim of a brutal murder.

Using Adobe Photoshop I then edited the image we found of a murderer to add scratches and the word 'murderer' across his eyes. This is once again to enforce to the audience that he is the killer and is responsible for the family's deaths.

Using LunaPic I then used the 'Scary/Horror' animation once again to create a flashing animation of the murderer's face to make it appear much more sinister and scary.
